What do you do at InReach?

I am the VP of Engineering and responsible for the teams tasked with the development and support of the InReach platform. These teams, both onsite and remote, consist of developers, product managers and product support professionals.

How long have you worked at InReach?

I joined InReach December of 2010 as a Database Developer.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The employees of InReach and our affiliates. I have been privileged to work with great people throughout my career and InReach continues that privilege. The energy, creativity and drive to innovate they bring everyday makes for a great place to work!

What is your favorite childhood memory?

Surviving! LOL I grew up with 2 brothers and we feared nothing (except mom and dad of course)! We were always outside doing something whether it was riding horses, dirt bikes, bicycles, building forts or boating at the lake. Most times things turned out great but every now and then, well let’s just say it was probably a good thing mom and dad were both certified Emergency Medical Technicians!

What are your hobbies?

Riding motorcycles (dirt and street) and working in my garage. Riding the hill country around Austin is relaxing and beautiful. I am always amazed, even when riding where I have driven 100 times, how different everything looks, and how many things I see I have never noticed before.

What is your favorite movie of all time?

I could never pick just one movie (well maybe The Godfather) but I can pick an actor. Clint Eastwood. No cracks! I have watched so many movies spanning his career, and I can still sit down and watch them again and again.

What do you want our clients to know about you?

My teams and I love solving challenges and designing processes, which remove the “monotony” from your day. Have a challenge? Let us know!

What do you do at InReach?

I am the IT Systems Manager (aka the Computer Geek) at InReach. It is my responsibility to keep all the technology online and protected.  This includes desktops, servers, email, local storage, backups, phones, Cloud storage, and whatever else people need.

How long have you worked at InReach?

I have been with InReach just over 3 years.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I am a geek to the core and truly like technology.  I get to work on every area of technology and constantly learn something new.  And the best part? I get to use that knowledge to help people.

What is your favorite childhood memory? 

Tough question.  My parents are amazing.  They worked hard to ensure my sister and I had a happy childhood with many great experiences.  The one that comes to mind is our summer road trips in the blue Buick Station wagon.  The back seat would be down and my sister and I would play card games, “I Spy something…”, read, road bingo, and of course fight.

What are your hobbies?

I love to read, mostly SciFi books. Weekend woodworking projects are always fun, usually things for my wife’s classroom. Poker, I won my way to the 2004 World Series of Poker Main Event.

What is your favorite movie of all time? 

Like many of my co-workers, I love movies.  I can never pick one movie as a favorite… how do you choose between a great Western (Silverado), a great Musical (Victor Victoria), and a great B-Movie (Ice Pirates)?   So here are a few I can re-watch at any time… Tron, Silverado, Blade Runner, Remo Williams, They Live, The Godfather, Empire Strikes Back, Victor Victoria, Ice Pirates…

What do you want our clients to know about you?

I may not know the answer immediately, but I will do everything I can to find it.  Google is a great starting place!

What do you do at InReach?

I am a Client Success Manager, tasked with assisting our clients with effective and meaningful utilization of the platform. I began work at InReach in the Contact Center and that work gave me not only great experience with your customers, but a lot of experience using the InReach product.

How long have you worked at InReach?

9 years

What do you enjoy most about your job? 

I enjoy being able to personalize our service to meet the needs of each client individually to help them achieve their goals.

What is your favorite childhood memory? 

As a young child, I loved to run down from our house to Lake Belton with all my tiny fishing gear and just sit for hours and fish with my father. I have fishing stories about the big one that got away.

What are your hobbies? 

I enjoy scrapbooking, hiking & biking with my husband, and have recently come to enjoy piloting.

What is your favorite movie of all time?

 The Day After Tomorrow.  If you haven’t watch it, you need to do so!

What do you want our clients to know about you?

I truly enjoy being part of such a wonderful team here at InReach. As one of my bosses once stated, “Teamwork makes the dream work!” I feel that statement fits perfectly. What Do You Enjoy Most About Your Job?

The best part of my job is the team culture and collaboration at InReach. We have an incredible mix of professionals from across the country, and that diversity makes every day both productive and fun.

What Is Your Favorite Childhood Memory?

One of my favorite memories is attending the Texas Longhorns vs. Texas A&M football game in 1998 when Ricky Williams broke the NCAA all-time rushing record. My brother and I wanted to be just like him for weeks after!

What Are Your Hobbies?

I love going to live concerts with friends, thankfully, Austin has no shortage of great music. I also enjoy helping maintain our family ranch in the Texas Hill Country, where I can relax, recharge, and enjoy the peaceful scenery.

What Is Your Favorite Movie?

Without hesitation—The Shawshank Redemption.

What Do You Want Clients to Know About You?

I’m passionate about sports (maybe too passionate), but luckily, I’m in good company with fellow sports fans on the InReach team.

Introducing Rob Garner

What do you do at InReach?

Sr. Web Developer at InReach.   I develop and maintain any of our core and internal web applications and services. Also, I participate in design discussions and implement those designs. Additionally, I have significant Database development knowledge and the skills necessary to start up and maintain a website on a webserver through IIS (Internet Information Server).

How long have you worked at InReach?

I have worked at InReach since July 1st, 2005.  I stared out working in the call center and production.  It’s been 11 years!

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The people I work with are what I enjoy the most. At InReach, I come to work knowing that I can rely on my coworkers/friends to help me through any project I am taking on. I also love the aspect of my job that allows me to create using code. Seeing a bunch of code and output turn into a fully functioning feature that everyone uses is pretty awesome.

What is your favorite childhood memory? 

When I lived near Lake Travis in Lakeway, Texas for a few years as a child. I have very fond memories of playing at the lake and cliff jumping, making forts in the woods, and playing with friends there.

What are your hobbies?

I have so many… Building Computers, reading (Fantasy/Sci-Fi), chess, cars, Quadcopters, woodworking, M:TG (Magic:  The Gathering, a board game for geeks), MMORPGs (Massively Multi-Player Online Role-playing Games), Rubik’s Cube, juggling, programming and I am sure there are more I cannot think of at the moment.

What is your favorite movie of all time?

Probably no surprise:  Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

What do you want our clients to know about you?

I am dedicated and that I always try to put others needs above my own. I am always looking for ways to make everyone’s work flow a little or a lot easier. The team that I am a part of provides the support that I need to achieve great things in the future.
